What safety features come with the Cherokee?
Security and safety have always been top priorities for Jeep vehicles. The 2019 Jeep Cherokee comes with over eighty different features, all intended to keep you safe, no matter the journey you’re taking. Some of these features include forward collision warning-plus, ParkSense parallel/perpendicular park assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning-plus. What engine options are available with the Cherokee?
The Jeep Cherokee is offering three engine options for the 2019 model year! There is even a new engine being offered, a 2.0-liter direct injection turbocharged inline four-cylinder. This engine can produce 295 pound-feet of torque and 270 horsepower. A few benefits of this engine include enhanced drivability, ESS technology, a quick 0-60 mph launch performance, and low emissions. Another engine available is a Pentastar 3.2-liter V6 that can generate 271 hp and 239 pound-feet of torque. This engine can tow up to 4,500 pounds. The third engine available is the 2.4-liter MultiAir2 Tigershark inline-4 that creates 170 lb-ft of torque and 180 horsepower. The standard transmission, paired with each of these engines, is a nine-speed automatic TorqueFlite. This transmission offers smooth power delivery, improved fuel efficiency, and aggressive launches.
What 4×4 systems are offered with the Cherokee?
Three innovative 4×4 systems are available with the 2019 Cherokee. The first of these is Jeep Active Drive I. What sets this system apart from the others is an enhanced efficiency, reduced weight, a reduction of low-speed system drag torque, an improvement with understeering and oversteering, and yaw correction during dynamic events. Another system is Jeep Active Drive II, adding a two-speed Power Transfer Unit, a 4-low mode that locks the rear and front driveshafts for low-speed towing or power, enhanced climbing ability, and an amazing crawl ratio. This system also includes a Neutral state which is perfect for flat-towing with all four wheels on the ground. The final system option is Jeep Active Drive Lock. This system comes standard with every Trailhawk model option and adds a rear locking differential for the best low-speed traction no matter the road conditions.
