The Charger is entering the 2018 model year with a change up on its lower trim levels. This will make many of these trims easier to obtain. In addition to these changes, many brand new safety features and driving aids have been made standard. The Impala, in 2018, has only made a few updates in 2018. These updates were making the 8-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth features standard.

The Charger has connected its trims to five different engines. The top engine is a 6.2-liter supercharged V8. This engine is beyond incredible with its 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. This engine is so well matched to its trim level that it can even travel from a complete stop to 60 miles per hour in just 4.1 seconds.

The Impala lacks with only two engines to choose between. Its better of the two available engines is the 3.6-liter inline-4 engine with 305 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. If you are wondering how capable this engine is, when paired with the top trim its ability to go from a complete stop to sixty miles per hour in a lengthy 6 full seconds.

Ten trim levels are available to choose from on the Charger. Each of these trims is stronger and faster than the one before it. They build their luxury as well. The top trim even comes fully loaded with upgraded steering, all the latest technology, and multiple added safety features.

2018 Chevrolet Impala Features & Design

The Impala has three trim levels to choose between. The first trim is very basic with very few features and doesn’t gain too many features until you reach the Premier trim. This Premier trim tops it off with all the previous trim package options. It also comes with the opportunity to add the LT Convenience, Midnight Edition Appearance, or the Premier Confidence packages. Each of these would need to be added to bring this trim closer to the Charger’s level.

Conclusions

The Impala has a fairly slow engine in comparison with the Charger and it hides most of its features behind packages, even though the trims should be more inclusive as there are seven less of them. With these in mind, the Charger stands out as a clearly better choice.
